it all started when…

…I was taught about ratios in primary school. I came home that afternoon and made a scale model floor plan of my bedroom and all the furniture in it. Every season I would spring clean my room, rearrange all the furniture, and redecorate my little space (the yellow sunflower bedspread of Spring ‘96 was a showstopper!).

My passion for organising, creating, planning and bringing ideas to life led me to a corporate career in brand management where I refined my project management skills working on some of the world’s top consumer brands. I mastered budget management, exercised my eye for detail and fell in love with the thrill of nurturing an idea into something you can see, feel and experience.

Flash forward 10 years, 3 renovations, 3 kids - with some further study and on the job decorating experience, I am finally ready to share my passion for interiors with others.

I truly believe everyone deserves to feel the joy I experienced as a young girl (and gratefully continue to feel today) from coming home to a space that you love - irrespective of personal taste, practical limitations or budget. I am genuinely excited by the idea of discovering what that looks like for you.

AN INTERIOR DECORATORS ROLE…

…is to take into account a variety of factors including clients’ needs, tastes, lifestyle and budget to create spaces that are not only beautiful but also functional. The Decorator works closely with clients to bring together a variety of design elements including colour, texture, fabrics, accessories, lighting and spatial planning. The ultimate goal is creating a space that is not only visually appealing and cohesive but also aligns with client expectations and is well-suited to their lifestyle.

You may consider employing the services of The Decorator if you:

  • Have recently moved into or renovated a home

  • Own key pieces of furniture but unsure how to pull it altogether or ‘finish it off’

  • Wish to update or refresh an existing space

  • Looking to create a bespoke nursery or child’s room

  • Want to repurpose a space (e.g. convert a guest room into an office)

Other clients come to The Decorator because they:

  • Have an idea of what they like but are unsure how to bring it to life

  • Are unsure of their own taste or style and would like it defined

  • Are unable to source specific furniture & décor themselves

  • Need a set of fresh eyes to inspire a change

  • Lack the time or inclination to do the job themselves

Working with an interior decorator can off-load a lot of the stress that comes with completing a space. The Decorator will work with you to deliver the best possible result within your budget and timeframe, consider things you may overlook on your own, streamline the decision making process, access exclusive trade discounts, and help you avoid costly mistakes - ultimately saving you both time and money.

how we work

room service

Unlike most decorators and designers who charge by the hour, I work on a room by room approach I like to call ‘Room Service’.
My unique way of working breaks down the overwhelming task of decorating into manageable bite sized pieces. By focusing on one room at a time, due consideration is given to each space and there are no surprises when it comes to fees, timelines and expectations. My Room Service options provide you the flexibility of making over a single room, or your entire house.

Packages

I offer three tiers of room service. Prices are fixed and are set per room. Packages can be combined when looking to decorate multiple rooms or an entire house.

  • Mini Room Service - for those looking for a quick refresh of their existing pieces or help finishing off a room.

  • Classic Room Service - for those looking to dress a new room or completely redecorate an existing space.

  • Ultimate Room Service - for those who are looking for traditional face to face, start to finish decorating service.

Please see my Room Service Menu below for more details on each package and optional extras.

Of course, I understand that each space is unique, so if you can’t find the package that is right for you please get in touch and I will be happy to customise a package to suit your needs.

When a room brings joy you know you got it right - thank you, thank you!

process

I understand that decorating can be an overwhelming task so my mission is to make it not only easy, but enjoyable. Regardless of the package you choose I will establish from the outset a transparent timeline and process so you will know exactly what to expect each step of the way. All of my room services include:

1) Discovery Session – via phone, zoom, email and/or in person. This is where I gather all the details about your space, your lifestyle, your preferences and needs.

2) Research & Gathering – this is where I get to work developing a vision for your space and pulling together a range of products to meet your brief.

3) Design Board – presentation of the curated design board. This is a chance for you to give feedback and make any adjustments.

4) Final Design Package – in the final presentation you will receive your final design board, a detailed schedule with specifics on every item featured, as well as styling notes. Shop-able links for retail products will be included to make DIY ordering easy and once given the go-ahead wholesale items will be ordered on your behalf.

5) Final Styling / Follow Up - depending on the package selected I will co-ordinate delivery and be present for the final styling of your room. All services include a 30-day support service to answer any design questions you have about your final design package.

wholesale DISCOUNTS & exclusives

I am proud to be able to offer you access to a range of Australian and international furniture and homewares through my supplier relationships, often at a discounted rate of up to 30% off RRP.

remote & in room services

While most of my clients prefer to work remotely (via email, zoom and WhatsApp) sometimes practicality calls for an in-home visit and I am pleased to do so within 50km of Sydney. In home visits can be added to any of the remote packages for a small fee and shopping appointments can be arranged by request.
